Previously on The Amazing Race,6 teams of 2 set out from Dubai, United Arab Emirates and travelled 4800km to Amsterdam, the Netherlands. At the Martinitoren, Siying used her concentration to propel her team to the front. Meanwhile, Lisa and Sam struggled for hours counting bells in the noisy bell tower. At the detour, Jenyun's wish came through as she consecutively struck all the golf balls in, allowing them to check in first. Sam began to get frustrated and the problem worsen after Yuyan & Lisa completed the roadblock and opted to bear the penalty. In the end, all other teams were saved by that penalty, causing Jack & Sam to be the seventh team to be eliminated from The Amazing Race.

In this detour, teams will revisit the historic past of Sweden. The choice, Nobel Dynamite or Viking Alphabet.In Nobel Dynamite, teams have to create sandbags to create a protective bunker in a rock quarry. Once they are protected, they have to set off an enormous explosion, made possible by the Swedish inventor of dynamite, Alfred Nobel, which would unearth a box with their next clue.In Viking Alphabet, teams have to decode a message using ancient Viking runes. Once they solved their puzzle, they would receive their next clue.Jenyun: I think we should do the dynamite. Once teams find the flag, they will make their way down the path to the Pit Stop. This infamous roadblock site is the eighth Pit Stop in the race around the world.
