Previously on The Amazing Race, 8 teams of 2 set out from Phnom Penh, Cambodia and travelled 5400km to Dubai, United Arab Emirates and soared up the tallest building in the world, Burj Dubai. While waiting for the elevator, slight tension sparked between Timothy & Siying and Waisin & Karhwee due to the previous U-Turn. As the final Fast Forward appeared, cousins Yuyan & Lisa fought hard against buddies Yanzhi & John to win the Fast Forward. In the end, an errornous turn caused Yanzhi & John to fall to the bottom of the pack as Yuyan & Lisa checked in first. The desert heat caused arguments to spark between Zhenyang & Pohchoon. However, Waisin & Karhwee managed to keep their cool and come in on top with a strong finish. Rachel & Baowen faltered badly and lost their lead at the roadblock, and further messed up at the detour, allowing Yanzhi & John to catch up. In the end, it was Yanzhi & John, who are unable to make up lost time at the Fast Forward, to become the 5th team eliminated from the race.7 teams remain, who will be eliminated next?
Leg 6 - Get your butt down the slide! Then, that person has to return to the dock and figure out the combination of their briefcase, which is the time shown on the watch - 8:35. The choice, Gold or Glass.In Gold, teams have to make their way to a jewelry store and use a precision scale to weigh out$500,000 worth of gold. To do this, teams need to figure out how to convert the amount using the gold exchange rate shown on the monitor in the store to obtain the correct weight. However, the exchange rate is constantly changing so teams have to work quickly in order to weigh out the gold and receive the next clue.In Glass, teams have to make their way to a spice market and choose a crate of disassembled Middle Eastern smoking pipes known as hookahs. Then, teams must utilize all of the parts from the crate to assemble twelve hookahs using the three displated hookahs as their guide.
