Previously on The Amazing Race, 8 teams of 2 set out from Phnom Penh, Cambodia and travelled 5400km to Dubai, United Arab Emirates and soared up the tallest building in the world, Burj Dubai. While waiting for the elevator, slight tension sparked between Timothy & Siying and Waisin & Karhwee due to the previous U-Turn. As the final Fast Forward appeared, cousins Yuyan & Lisa fought hard against buddies Yanzhi & John to win the Fast Forward. In the end, an errornous turn caused Yanzhi & John to fall to the bottom of the pack as Yuyan & Lisa checked in first. The desert heat caused arguments to spark between Zhenyang & Pohchoon. However, Waisin & Karhwee managed to keep their cool and come in on top with a strong finish. Rachel & Baowen faltered badly and lost their lead at the roadblock, and further messed up at the detour, allowing Yanzhi & John to catch up. In the end, it was Yanzhi & John, who are unable to make up lost time at the Fast Forward, to become the 5th team eliminated from the race.

Leg 6 - Get your butt down the slide! (Yuyan)

Yuyan & Lisa, who were the first to arrive, will depart at 8.17am.

Yuyan: *rips open clue* Take a briefcase.
Yixuan (voice-over): Teams must now choose a briefcase, take it along with them and travel by taxi to Dubai Creek Yacht and Golf Club. Once there, teams will have to search the marina boardwalk for their next clue.
Lisa: Alright, let's pick the middle one! Hope there's money inside for us!

*confessionals*

Yuyan: After talking to the other teams, we found out that the previous leg was a killer. Thank goodness we went for the Fast Forward.
Lisa: Ya! And we now have a very good lead over the other teams. Hope it will work to our advantage.

*at Dubai Creek Yacht and Golf Club*

*1st team to arrive at club - Yuyan & Lisa*

Lisa: Booboo! I see the clue!
*runs to cluebox*
Lisa: *rips open clue* It's a roadblock.
Yixuan (voice-over): A roadblock is a task where only 1 person may perform. And no person can do more than 6 roadblocks in the entire race. In this roadblock, that person must row an inflatable dingy to a yacht anchored offshore where they will find a sheik who would present them with a watch following the Arab custom of hospitality. Then, that person has to return to the dock and figure out the combination of their briefcase, which is the time shown on the watch - 8:35. Teams will find their next clue inside the briefcase.
Lisa: I'm scared of water so BOOBOO will do it!
Yuyan: I guess so.

*Yuyan starts rowing*

Lisa: BOOBOO! BOOBOO! BOOBOO! BOOBOO!
Yuyan: This is tough. The current is very strong. I hope i don't get swept away.

Karhwee: Are we going to play golf? I'm quite good at it!

Karhwee: It's really frustrating to come in second 3 times in a row. It's time for first place!
Waisin: And we will work doubly hard to achieve it! Right?
Karhwee: Right!

Yuyan: Finally, got the watch. Going back should be easy since the current is assisting me.

Yuyan: *rips open clue* Travel to Abra Station.
Yixuan (voice-over): Teams must now travel to Abra Station, a water taxi port situated in the old souk section of Dubai.
Lisa: Maybe we get to do some magic! You know, ABRA KADABRA!
Yuyan: I see Waisin & Karhwee there! Let's get out of here!

*2nd team to arrive at club - Waisin & Karhwee*

Karhwee: I'm not good at rowing.
Waisin: I'm not good too.
Karhwee: Quick decide, who to do it.
Waisin: I will do it ba.

Pohchoon: I think that the more we quarrel, the better our placing gets.

Timothy: Let's go baby!

*1st team to arrive at Abra Station - Yuyan & Lisa*

Yuyan: *rips open clue* Detour. Gold or Glass.
Yixuan (voice-over): A Detour is a choice between two tasks, each with its pros and cons. In this detour, teams have to choose between two elements of Dubai's export industry. The choice, Gold or Glass.

In Gold, teams have to make their way to a jewelry store and use a precision scale to weigh out$500,000 worth of gold. To do this, teams need to figure out how to convert the amount using the gold exchange rate shown on the monitor in the store to obtain the correct weight. However, the exchange rate is constantly changing so teams have to work quickly in order to weigh out the gold and receive the next clue.

In Glass, teams have to make their way to a spice market and choose a crate of disassembled Middle Eastern smoking pipes known as hookahs. Then, teams must utilize all of the parts from the crate to assemble twelve hookahs using the three displated hookahs as their guide. Once they have completed, they will receive their next clue.
Yuyan: We aren't good at Maths.
Lisa: So let's do the hookahs BOOBOO!

Waisin: *panting heavily* Thank you. *receives watch*
Karhwee: Waisin is taking too long. The girls have left for a long time already and another cab just pulled in.

Timothy: I will do the roadblock.

Pohchoon: You did the previous one so I will do this one.

Jenyun: Let's get first fairygodmummy!
Priscilla: I will try to use my powers!

Sam: Travel by taxi to Dubai blah blah blah.
Jack: I think we should work together with Priscilla & Jenyun since they helped us last leg.
Sam: And dump them when we have the chance.
Jack: Yup, it will be easy to outrun them.

Lisa: BOOBOO! This is alot of parts leh!
Yuyan: Let's try to assemble slowly.

Waisin: Could it be the time? *lock clicks open* Dear, I got it!
Karhwee: About time. We have to hurry!

Siying: Baby! You are doing great! Keep your lead on Pohchoon!

Zhenyang: Fatty, you better beat Timothy!
Pohchoon: Shut up! It's not easy you know!
Zhenyang: This is bad. I should have done this roadblock. He is taking too much time.

Rachel: Ah bao! We are last again!
Baowen: AHHHHHH! Let's gooooooooo!

Yuyan: So this part goes to the base. Then this tube connects this two.
Lisa: This is like jigsaw puzzle. I dunno which pipe goes with which hookah.
Yuyan: There is a pattern. Observe carefully!

Karhwee: Definitely gold.
Waisin: Let's go then!

Karhwee: When we looked at the detour, the choice was obvious. Both of us are experts in Maths so it's pretty logical to go for the calculating detour.

Sam: I think I will do this. You do alot of roadblocks liao.

Jenyun: My turn! I want to row!
Priscilla: Be careful my dear.

Timothy: Let's see. Could the time be the code? *lock clicks open* Great!
Siying: Baby, you rock!

Siying: It was rather funny to see the currents washing Pohchoon back everytime he paddles forward.
Timothy: I just hope we can maintain our lead.

Pohchoon: Argh! Why can't i paddle forward!
Zhenyang: Forget the paddles! Use your arms!
Pohchoon: Shut up! I can handle this myself!

Karhwee: We have to divide 500,000 by this number.
Waisin: My god! We don't have a calculator.
Karhwee: Let's just calculate manually.

Lisa: Are we done?
person: *shakes head*
Yuyan: What's wrong?
Lisa: We still have these parts! The clue says utilize every part.
Yuyan: Hmm, these are supposed to go under those!
Lisa: BOOBOO! YOU ARE SO CLEVER!

Pohchoon: Thank you. *receives watch* Now to go back. This is damn tiring.

Jack: Sam! You are circling around in that spot! Even Jenyun has overtaken you!
Sam: I can't paddle for nuts!

Jack: Just push the water backwards! My god!

Sam: This stinks! I can't move!
Jack: I should have done the roadblock. I am totally seeing 4 hours penalty coming.

Priscilla: You are doing well my dear! Keep it up!
Jenyun: Of course! You blessed me!

Baowen: It has to do with paddling. They are still there.
Rachel: Great. Something I am quite good at.

Siying: Ya. Maths sucks!

Karhwee: *scribbling Maths equation furiously* I think I got the answer. Let's weigh it.
Waisin: Done.
person: *shakes head*
Karhwee: But it's correct! What went wrong?
Waisin: What's the reading just now?
Karhwee: *looks at monitor* Definitely not this number.
Waisin: Oh no! It changed again!
Karhwee: We have to complete this before the number changes!

Yuyan: *fixing last washer* Done!
person: *nods head and hands them clue*

Lisa: Thank you! *rips open clue* Travel to Atlantis! Is it the underwater world?
Yixuan (voice-over): Teams must now head to the Atlantis, the Palm Dubai resort and search the Aquaventure Water Park for the Leap of Faith. Then, both team members must take the six-story plunge on a water slide at a nearly ninety-degree angle through a shark tank. Teams will then find the clue at the bottom of the slide.
Yuyan: Sounds bad. Six-story? Shark tank? My god!
Lisa: Both members? I'm scared of heights and water!

*at roadblock*

Pohchoon: The hands are pointing to 7 and 8. But what's the 3rd digit?

Jenyun: Thank you. *receives watch*

Jack: Sam! You have to hustle! Even Rachel overtook you!
Sam: I know! I am having alot of difficulty here!
Jack: Do it slowly. Paddle bit by bit!
Sam: I know I know!

Rachel: Thank you. *receives watch*

Timothy: This is crazy.
Siying: I'm good at visualising things. Let's me try to figure out the parts. Then we fix them together.

Karhwee: *still scribbling Maths equations* Okay! Quick put one more piece in before the figure changes!
Waisin: Done! Done!
person: *nods heads and hands them clue*

Waisin: Let's go to the underwater world of Atlantis!
Karhwee: I seriously hope Yuyan & Lisa aren't done with the detour yet.
Waisin: Hey! Don't ignore my joke!
Karhwee: Seriously, we are getting nowhere with your jokes.

Zhenyang: You are seriously causing us to be eliminated.

Timothy: You are incredible.
Siying: Then put the hose inside there. And tada! One hookah done!
Timothy: Let's do it quickly!

Yixuan (voice-over): Team must know search the grounds of the Atlantis palm Beach Resort for the Pitstop, Dolphin Bay Beach. This picturesque beach overseeing the vast ocean is the sixth Pitstop in the race around the world. The last team to check-in may be eliminated.
Waisin: Let's claim our first place!

Yixuan: You are team number 1! As the winners of this leg of the race, you have each won a personal watercraft which you can enjoy after the race.
Waisin: Cool!
Karhwee: The feeling of coming in first again is great. I hope there is more to come!

Karhwee: Having to come in first after that string of 2nd places is definitely a morale booster to us.
Waisin: We will definitely do better!

Pohchoon: Oh great. The brothers caught up.

Sam: We have to do this quickly.

Yuyan: Yay!
Lisa: I'm so proud of myself to be able to complete the leap of faith.
Yixuan: But you let your first place slip out of hand.
Lisa: The sense of completing that and overcoming my fears is far greater than coming in first.
Yuyan: And we still have chances to come in first right?

Priscilla: I have no clue on how to fix this.
Jenyun: I think we can just do it slowly.

Rachel: This stinks.
Baowen: Oh look, the boys are here!

Priscilla: Okay, we are getting somewhere I think.
Jenyun: We have to beat them.
Priscilla: Why are we building something for an activity we hate?
Jenyun: Argh!

Rachel: Actually, we were on the right track! We just have to fix this part in!
Baowen: Oh ya! How stupid are we to miss it!

Pohchoon: This detour is worse than the gold.
Zhenyang: So what now?
Pohchoon: I don't know!

Timothy: Please baby, just slide down before another team arrives.
Siying: Please don't force me. I'm scared!

Timothy: Speak of the devil. Quick, you still have 2 minutes to make the slide.
Siying: Can't we just let them go first? I don't want to do this.
Timothy: Argh! I don't know what to do now.

Jack: We are just waiting for them to spend their 2 minutes and we are on our way.
Sam: We are in pretty good shape.

*2 minutes up*

Timothy: Great. Just great.

Jack: Good luck guys! *slides down*
Sam: You can stay here and get eliminated! Haha! *slides down*

Zhenyang: We have to beat them.
Pohchoon: When we have no clue on what to do?
Zhenyang: Stop being pessimistic.
Pohchoon: Stop being bossy.

Jack: Great job!
Sam: Sweet!
Yixuan: So how do you feel about this leg?
Jack: I think that Sam is starting to learn how to become a team player much better.
Sam: After all, we live in a community. Interacting with others is important.

Timothy: Please slide down. We have been here for more than an hour already.
Siying: But i don't want to!
Timothy: *drags Siying to slide* GO DOWN NOW!
Siying: NO! YOU CAN'T FORCE ME!
Timothy: ARGH!

Baowen: I feel like I'm watching a drama serial from here.
Rachel: The way Timothy is treating Siying is so bad. If i were her, I would give him a kick to his groin.

*2 minutes up*

Timothy: Not again!
Siying: *sobbing* Don't force me! I will do it myself!

Siying: I'm going down now alright! *sobbing*
Timothy: I'm waiting.
Siying: AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! *shouts and slides down*
Timothy: We are so screwed.

Yixuan: Rachel & Baowen, you are team number 4!
Baowen: Yay! We are finally not at the bottom!
Rachel: We did well. I must say.
Yixuan: Timothy, Siying, come on in.

Yixuan: You are team number 5.
Timothy: Yes! Still in it.
Siying: *walks away from mat and started crying*
Yixuan: Timothy, I think you should calm her down.
Rachel: Ya! What you did at the slide was so ungentlemanly!
Baowen: You should encourage her instead of forcing her.
Timothy: *stand there silently*
Yixuan: What are you waiting for?
*Timothy walks over to Siying and helped her up*

Timothy: I agree that I was a jerk at the slide. But I'm sure Siying will forgive me for doing that.

Siying: I was shocked that Timothy actually resorted to brute force so that we can stay in the race. Looks like I don't know him very well.

My leave has started! But my throat haven fully recovered yet. And I feel like fever is giving me a visit. Crap.

I have some thoughts and reflections over the previous week and these 2 days.

Firstly, it's very hard for one to tune back to his/her original state of mind once he/she is given the chance to slack. And this is very prominent in where I'm working at right now. It has been threatening the work quality that we have been trying to deliver. You may say it's just the NSF mentality, but I think that one should still have that minimun standard to meet when being tasked to do something. And yes, I'm referring to that 2 particular person if you know who I mean.

Secondly, I feel that one should be contented with what one is getting now. It's no use complaining how bad or how unfair the current situation is to you, because it might be worse off for others. Be it the environment, workload, anything. It's also because of the simple fact that life's just unfair. So what if you don't like to be here, it's not like you have a choice. Sure, a little grumbling is okay, but seriously, not to that extent that it pisses others off.

Thirdly, stress is present anywhere. So what one should do is to accept it and try to change it into something motivational, and not succumb to it everytime it presents itself to you. You will never find a job in future whereby you can get your way through by just becoming stressful. You have to learn how to overcome it and not let it bother you again. You may have me now to help you tide through things but there's a limit to the things I can do. Ultimately, you have to step in to help yourself.

Last but not least, I hate people who take MC when they are totally fine and fit. So super duper chao keng.

Previously on The Amazing Race, 9 teams of 2 set out from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam and travelled 210km to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. At the airport, Timothy & Siying were unable to get on the flight everyone else was on. But after being persistant, they managed to to squeeze on. At the detour, Jenyun's love for pink paid off when they luckily found their matching scarf within seconds. In the meanwhile, Rachel & Baowen faced tough luck selling their helmets. Finding themselves lost in the market, Jack & Sam started to panic. However, it was Wanjing who flared up at the communication barrier with the locals. Timothy & Siying arrived at the Roadblock at the front of the pack, but found that Siying has difficulty completing the roadblock, allowing most of the last female teams to catch up. In the end, Jenyun's agility propelled their team into first place. Xinfang & Wanjing's luck dipped again when their taxi was the last among the 4 to the pitstop. After a wild footrace between 4 teams, Xinfang & Wanjing were edged out, causing them to be the 4th team to be eliminated.

Priscilla & Jenyun, who were the first team to arrive, will depart at 12.25pm.

Yixuan (voice-over): Teams must now figure out that the world's tallest building is Burj Dubai in the capital city of United Arab Emirates. Once they figure out that, they must fly to Dubai, UAE and make their way to a fountain to sign up on 1 of 2 groups to ride an elevator to the 124th floor of Burj Dubai.
Priscilla: Let's find out where is the Persian Gulf and the tallest building.
Jenyun: We need the internet!

Yuyan: Booboo! Got Fast Forward!
Lisa: Let's take it.
Yixuan (voice-over): This is the 2nd of only 2 Fast Forwards hidden on the entire race. The first team who finds it and completes it can skip all task and head directly to the Pitstop. In this Fast Forward, that team have to travel to Dubai Autodrome. Then, one team member will have to drive a F3 open-wheel racecar and accelerating to up to 100mph, complete a lap within 45 seconds or less.
Yuyan: This is going to be exciting.
Lisa: *shouting out* We are going for the Fast Forward! Don't follow us!

Yanzhi: *whispering* I think we stand a better chance to win the Fast Forward than them.

Once they have collected enough water for their camel, they will receive their next clue.

Yixuan (voice-over): A Detour is a choice between two tasks, each with its pros and cons. In this detour, teams have to choose between 2 frigid tasks under the sweltering heat. The choice, Build a Snowman or Find a Snowman.

In Build a Snowman, teams have to carry snow from the frigid conditions inside to the blistering heat outdoors. Then, they have to build a traditional snowman with two coal eyes, a carrot nose, and a top hat. Once done, they will receive their next clue.

In Find a Snowman, teams have to take a chairlift up the mountain and then sled down to a mound of snow. Then, they have to search through the massive pile of snow for a tiny snowman buried in it. Once found, they will receive their next clue.
Karhwee: Building sounds so much better. Not a luck-based one.

Previously on The Amazing Race,

10 teams of 2 set out from Cai Be, Vietnam and raced 90km to the heart of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City. Brothers Jack & Sam had a headstart by snagging their clue first, but was soon overtaken by dating couple Waisin & Karhwee. Siblings Shelia & Erwitt had very bad luck with cabs and found themselves circling around the previous Pitstop. Reaching the U-Turn first, Waisin & Karhwee slapped the U-Turn on Timothy & Siying to further extend their lead. This allowed every other team, including the lost siblings, to overtake them. Xinfang & Wanjing successfully attempted the Fast Forward and came in first. In the end, it was a cab race between 4 teams to avoid elimination. Ultimately, Shelia & Erwitt's bad luck with cabs returned to haunt them, sealing their fate as the stepped onto the mat last, causing them to become the 3rd team eliminated from the race.

Yixuan (voice-over): A detour is a task between 2 choice, each with its own pros and cons. In this detour, teams have to choose between 2 commonly found Cambodia activities. The choice, Cover or Wrap.
In Cover, teams have to find this helmet stand and choose four helmets. Then, they have to sell the helmets to a family of four, 2 adults and 2 children, for 10 dollars. Once the team returns the money to the helmet shop owner, they would receive their next clue.
In Wrap, teams have to find the Russian Market and locate stalls 980 and 981 where the shopowner will hand them a intricately patterned silk scarf. Then, they have to search the confusing corridors of the market for a woman wearing an identical scarf. When they correctly match the two scarfs, the shop keeper would hand them their next clue.
Siying: Which one should we do?
Timothy: 10 dollars is alot for a typical Cambodian family.
Siying: Let's do Wrap?
Timothy: Okay.

Yixuan (voice-over): A roadblock is a task where only one person may perform, and no person can do more than 6 roadblocks in the entire race. In Cambodia, monkeys are so revered that the royal family employs a royal monkey master who trains dancers to behave like monkeys. In this Roadblock, one team member have to put on a monkey mask and tail and complete three monkey maneuvers, as demonstrated by their monkey master. If they can keep up their simian act during the maneuvers, the monkey master would hand them their next clue.
