Leg 6 Recap

Previously on the Amazing Race, 6 teams of 2 departed Vilnius, Lithuania and travelled 900km to Dubrovnik, Croatia. The 3 teams connecting through Prague faced a major problem when their connecting flight departed without them. On the other hand, teams connecting through Warsaw had an easy leg with Timothy and Valerie clinching first due to Valerie's military style pushing their team ahead. However, things weren't as smooth for good friends Celest and Felicia, who broke into many fights throughout the leg. But, Priscilla and See Lek, whose cab brought them in the wrong direction, still lost to them in a close footrace, causing them to be the 6th team eliminated from the race. 5 teams remain, who will be eliminated next?

Leg 7

Departing the pit stop first at 2.19am, Timothy and Valerie opened their clue.

timothy: Travel by bus to Split, then take a ferry to Ancona, Italy to receive your next clue.
valerie: WE ARE GOING TO ITALY! LET'S GO SHOPPING!
timothy: No. I dont want to get eliminated.
valerie: Fine.

*at the bus terminal*

valerie: WHAT?!?! THE BUS DEPARTS AT 5am?!?!
timothy: All the teams are going to catch up.
valerie: Great, and the counter only opens at 4.30am.

*at 4.30am*

timothy: Can i have 2 tickets to Split?
ticket-person: Here you go.

hanwei: 2 tickets please.
ticket-person: Here you go.
kelvin: It has been a while since we get first.
hanwei: Time to get a first!

pohchoon: I need 2 tickets.
ticket-person: Here you go.

Timothy and Valerie, Han Wei and Kelvin and Poh Choon and Yan Zhi are on the 5am bus to Split.

Departing the pit stop at 5.37am and 5.38am respectively, Zhen Yang and Jezabel and Celest and Felicia booked themsleves on the 6am bus to Split.

*at Split*

valerie: WHAT DO YOU MEAN THE FERRY ONLY DEPARTS AT NOON?!?!
timothy: baby, relax. *turns to counter* Just give me 2 tickets.

All 5 teams are on the same ferry to Ancona, Italy.

*at Ancona*

zhenyang: Drive to the town of Empoli and find an airfield for your next clue. At some point during the 320km drive, you will be receiving a message with the Blackberry handheld device. However, teams cannot attempt to use their Blackberry for any other reason.
jezabel: What's a Blackberry? Can i eat it?
zhenyang: Never mind, i navigate you drive.

*soon, all teams are embarking on the long long journey to Empoli*

*along the way their Blackberry rang*

*timothy and valerie's car*

valerie: OMG! IT'S OUR BABY!
timothy: ARE YOU SERIOUS??
their son: Good luck on the race Papa and Mama, hope you will win the million bucks to buy me toys!

*hanwei and kelvin's car*

hanwei: Omg. It's our classmates.
kelvin: Huh?
their classmates: You 2 better clear all your misunderstandings and become friends Ok?

*zhenyang and jezabel's car*

zhenyang: um it's your mum?!
jezabel: OH MY GOD!!
jezabel's mum: You must bond well with zhenyang ok? I am expecting to carry a grandson soon.

*celest and felicia's car*

felicia: Oh my! OUR JC FRIENDS!
celest: They must be calling to tell you to stop slacking.
their friends: You 2 are so cool! Better win the race and treat us!!

*pohchoon and yanzhi's car*

pohchoon: The Blackberry is ringing.
yanzhi: Answer it then.
their parents: Hope you have fun on the race! The important thing is enjoying it, not winning it.

Zhen Yang and Jezabel, Han Wei and Kelvin and Celest and Felicia, who chose to drive through Bologna, faced a traffic jam and a road block which will not clear until 6am.

kelvin: Let's just wait here. We drive to smaller roads will take us more time. Let's just wait here?
hanwei: Well, it makes sense.

felicia: Let's wait here.
celest: And get eliminated?
felicia: It's just another 2 hours and the road is direct.
celest: Fine.

zhenyang: I found an alternative road which might bring us to Empoli quicker.
jezabel: Ok let's turn out.

*meanwhile on the expressway*

yanzhi: This is creepy. I dont see any other teams.
pohchoon: Just concentrate driving.
yanzhi: Okok. Can't i even be worried?

timothy: Should we stop by to confirm our direction?
valerie: Ask them.
timothy: So we are driving through Rome?
random-person: Yes. Just follow this path.

*at Empoli airfield*

Timothy and Valerie arrived first at 6.30am.

valerie: WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS RACE?!?! IT OPENS AT 7AM?!?!
timothy: This is rigged. We have to be caught in this crap for 3 times in a leg.

Poh Choon and Yan Zhi arrived second at 6.32am.

pohchoon: We are second? Amazing.
yanzhi: I was thinking we are goners.

Zhen Yang and Jezabel arrived third at 6.55am.

jezabel: Woah. 5 min to spare.
zhenyang: Lucky we took the small roads.

*at 7.00am*

timothy: ROADBLOCK!
In this Roadblock, one team member has to soar through the skies over Tuscany in an ultra light. While aloft, they had to scan a 10-kilometer radius of the countryside below for the name of their next destination: Vinci. When they thought they spotted the hint, they had to signal their pilot, who would then bring them back down. Once on the ground, they would tell the instructor the word and, if correct, the pilot would hand them their next clue. There was a thirty-minute time limit per flight. Once the half hour was up, team members had to make a mandatory landing for refueling before continuing their search.

timothy: I will do it!!
valerie: Anything.

pohchoon: I only did 2 roadblocks up to now so I shall do it.
yanzhi: Ok

jezabel: I wanna do it!
zhenyang: Alright dear.

Han Wei and Kelvin arrived fourth at 7.00am.

hanwei: We are 4th! Take the Fast Forward before the girls catch up
kelvin: Fast Forward. Travel to Fabio Studios to take part in a local seafaring tradition.
hanwei: Quick to the cars!
kelvin: Seafaring? What's that?
hanwei: I don't know and I don't care.

Celest and Felicia arrived fifth at 7.06am.

celest: Ok i will sit the ultralight.
felicia: NO! I WANNA SIT!
celest: You have done alot of Roadblocks already.
felicia: I don't care! BYE!

*at the roadblock*

pohchoon: I wonder what am i supposed to look out for.

jezabel: OMG I SAW IT! IT'S VINCI!!

timothy: *squints eye further* I can't see it.

felicia: YAY! THIS IS SO FUN!

*at Fabio Studios*

hanwei: Fast Forward. Get a tattoo ff, which represents Fast Forward, to receive the Fast Forward award.
kelvin: WTH! TATTOO??
hanwei: How? If we go back now we are surely dead.
kelvin: Let's just get the tattoo
hanwei: Alright then.
*enters tattoo shop*

*at the roadblock*

jezabel: I know the answer! Vinci.
person: Here's your clue.
zhenyang: Great job dear. *kisses*
jezabel: Drive to the town of Vinci and find the birth home of famed Italian artist and inventor, Leonardo da Vinci.

timothy: Is that the word? V-I-N-C-I. erm. Vinci? Pilot please land.

pohchoon: I SAW THE ANSWER! VINCI! PILOT GO DOWN!

felicia: THIS RIDE IS SUPER FUN!!!

*at Fabio Studios*

tattoist: You have successfully completed the Fast Forward task.
hanwei: You may skip all tasks and travel to the Pit Stop, the Boboli Gardens in Florence. This beautiful garden filled with different species of flowers is the 7th Pit Stop in the race around the world. The last team to check in may be eliminated.
kelvin: FIRST PLACE! WOO!

*at the roadblock*

pohchoon & timothy: VINCI!
person: Here is your next clue.

yanzhi: Let's go!

valerie: We are in danger!

celest: Where the hell is Felicia?!?!

*on the road*

zhenyang: Hmm, We try going left? I am not sure.
jezabel: Ok we go left. *turns right*
zhenyang: Oh i see it! What a blessing in disguise!
jezabel: Huh? I just followed your orders and turned left!
zhenyang: But where is the clue?

*at the Boboli Gardens*

Yi Xuan: Han Wei and Kelvin, you are team number 1! As the winners of this leg of the race, you have wona 5-night trip for 2 to Cancun, sponsored by Travelocity.
hanwei: YES!
kelvin: We realised that if we don't fight and work hard together, nothing will get in our way!

*at roadblock*

*felicia's ultralight landed after 30min*

felicia: IT WAS SO FUN! YOU SHOULD HAVE TRIED IT!
celest: Did you find the clue?
felicia: What clue?
celest: OMG! YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO FIND A WORD OR A CLUE OR WHATEVER!
felicia: STOP SHOUTING! I THOUGHT I ONLY HAVE TO TAKE THE RIDE!
celest: GET BACK UP THERE AND COMPLETE IT!
felicia: FINE!

*at Da Vinci's birthhouse*

zhenyang: DETOUR! Invention or Tradition
In Invention, teams have to make their way to a nearby courtyard and chose a replica of a centuries-old crane designed by Leonardo da Vinci. They have to first assemble the crane, and use it to lift one large stone a foot off the ground. Then, they have to place a mirror underneath and read a clue printed on the bottom of the rock.
In Tradition, teams have to make their way to Piazza Guido Masi. There, they have to learn a traditional local flag routine. When they executed the routine correctly, the lead flagman will hand them a flag displaying the name of their next destination.

jezabel: Let's do the flags. It sounds cool
zhenyang: OK! I doubt we can assemble properly anyway.

pohchoon: Let's do flag.
yanzhi: Ok.

valerie: Let's do Invention. If come to the worse, I will just use brute force to lift it.
timothy: I love you baby!

*at the roadblock*

felicia: Hmm, is Vinci the word? Pilot can you land please?

*at Tradition detour*

jezabel: This is so hard.
zhenyang: Haha but it's fun.
jezabel: *swings flag up and fails to catch it, flag hits her head* OUCH!
zhenyang: Are you ok dear?
jezabel: Yes. Let's train faster! Poh Choon and Yan Zhi are here!

pohchoon: This is fun!
yanzhi: I remember doing this before! *performs the whole procedure*
pohchoon: OMG! THAT WAS SO OMG!
yanzhi: Quick it's easy to do!

*at Invention detour*

valerie: Now this goes here and that goes there.
timothy: Then i screw up this part.
valerie: The put this through here.
timothy: DONE! Let's try lifting the rock.
valerie: *turns lever to lift rock*
timothy: OMG IT CAME UP! *takes mirror to see clue* Travel to the Pit Stop, the Boboli Gardens in Florence. This beautiful garden filled with different species of flowers is the 7th Pit Stop in the race around the world. The last team to check in may be eliminated.
valerie: OMG LET'S GO!

felicia: Is it Vinci?
person: Here is your clue.
celest: Finally! I sure hope we dont get eliminated.

zhenyang: *mastering flag routine* Ok I can do it already.
jezabel: Give me abut more time.

pohchoon: Ok i can do it already!
yanzhi: Great!

*pohchoon and yanzhi performing for the lead flagmen*

lead flagmen: Excellent. Here is your next clue.
pohchoon: OMG PITSTOP! RUN!

*at Boboli Gardens*

Yi Xuan: Timothy and Valerie, you are team number 2!
valerie: Great job!
timothy: I am really thankful valerie is here pushing me to do my best.

*at Da Vinci birthplace*

celest: We are so last. Which detour you wanna do?
felicia: Let's do the flags. I dont think we can lift that heavy rock.

*at Boboli Gardens*

Yi Xuan: Poh Choon and Yan Zhi, you are team number 3!
pohchoon: This is good!
yanzhi: That Fast Forward back there helped us to gain the momentum.
pohchoon: I have a good feeling we will win this.

*at Tradition detour*

jezabel: Can we try to show the lead flagman?
zhenyang: We better do. Celest and Felicia have caught up with us already!

celest: OMG THEY ARE STILL THERE!
felicia: *fumbles with flag* This is so heavy.

*zhenyang and jezabel performing for the lead flagmen*

lead flagmen: Abit of wobbling at the end but still acceptable. Here's your clue.
zhenyang: We better hurry to the Pit Stop!

*on the road to Pit Stop*

zhenyang: OMG! THE CAR DIED OUT ON US!
narrator: In the event of car breakdowns, a replacement car will be given to the team with no time credit.
jezabel: This is so frustrating.

*at Tradition detour*

celest: This is not that bad.
felicia: Let's try to impress that idiot there.

*Celest and Felicia performing for lead flagman*

lead flagman: Not bad. Here is your clue.
felicia: LET'S HURRY OUT OF HERE!

*on the road*

zhenyang: Ok, the car is here. Let's hope we wont get eliminated.
jezabel: Please let us stay

felicia: Let's hope they drove into a drain or something.
celest: Let's just hope we win them to the pitstop.

*at Boboli Gardens*

*a car drives in*

*2 people running to the Pit Stop*

Yi Xuan: Zhen Yang and Jezabel, you are team number 4.
zhenyang: THANK GOODNESS.
jezabel: Stupid car. Breakdown at such a wrong time.

*moments later*

Yi Xuan: Celest and Felicia, you are the last team to arrive. However, I am pleased to announce that this is the first of 2 pre-determined non-elimination legs. You are still in the race.
celest: WHAT?!?!
felicia: AHHH!!!!!
Yi Xuan: However, the bad news is you have to perform the Speed Bump which is a task that only you have to complete while the other Teams kept racing.
celest: We will work well together to overcome the Speed Bump and stay in the race.
felicia: That's provided that you dont pick on me
celest: Can you act more responsibly and pull your own weight in the race?
felicia: Whatever.
