thanks to the track & field meet, i had a 3 hour break. i think that i had spent the time very wisely and efficiently. firstly, i managed to FINALLY complete my sampling theory tutorial and almost finished chemical periodicity tutorial. secondly, i was spending time with a very good friend from 945-1045 and having lunch from 1145-1245. =)

then before the t&f meet starts, we were giving some house identity. then siaun got bored and decided to express his artistic talents and his guinea pig - veron.

after that, i went off with celest for the rest of the t&f meet bcz i refused to while my time away under the scorching hot sun which will cause be to turn black and experience severe skin exfoliation and then leave me with nothing =( so we went outside choir room and talked. we also played a game. it's called 'count the mrt carraiges as it passes by. haha. now for the amazing race post. =)

Leg 5 Recap

Previously on the Amazing Race, 7 teams of 2 set out from Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso and travelled 4800km to Vilnius, Lithuania. Teams are astounded by the marvellous sight of the ancient city and the lush countryside (xinfang: i always wanted to explore such an ancient city) while other teams disagreed on directions (zhenyang: YOU DRIVE I NAVIGATE). Poh Choon and Yan Zhi attempted the Fast Forward and checked in first easily. At the roadblock, Timothy got severely lost (valerie: we came first and now we are what? last??) and the situation worsened when he stumbled at the detour (timothy: this is impossible). However, it was insufficient for Si Aun and Xinfang to catch up after bickering badly while counting the fence, causing them to be the 5th team to be eliminated from the race (Yi Xuan: you have been eliminated from the race). 6 teams remain, who will be eliminated next?

Leg 6

Departing the Pit Stop first at 1.00am, Poh Choon and Yan Zhi opened their clue.

pohchoon: Fly 900 miles to Dubrovnik, Croatia and travel to the base of the Fort of St. Lawrence.
yanzhi: We finally came in first. I have a very good feeling that this momentum will be kept up to the very last moment of the race.

Arriving at the airport, the duo found that the counters only open at 4.30am.

pohchoon: Let's do some research on flights.
yanzhi: I have one departing at 6am arriving at 11.20am connecting through Prague.
pohchoon: Mine departs at 6.20am and arrive at 11.20am connecting through Warsaw.
yanzhi: Let's book the 6.20am since they arrive at the same time.

*soon, the 5 other teams flood into the airport*

zhenyang: Let's take the 6am flight. Early departure means early arrival.
jezabel: You are so clever darling. *kisses*

felicia: Let's take the same flight as them, since we are in alliance.
celest: Can you have your own opinion? Must you follow what everything they do?
felicia: THEN WHAT YOU WANT ME TO DO?
celest: FIND OTHER FLIGHTS LA!
felicia: STOP SHOUTING AT ME LIKE THAT!
celest: I AM TOTALLY GIVING UP ON YOU!

All 6 teams are traveling to Dubrovnik, Croatia on 2 flights.

Poh Choon and Yan Zhi, Timothy and Valerie and Han Wei and Kelvin are connecting at Warsaw, Poland.

Celest and Felicia, Priscilla and See Lek and Zhen Yang are connecting through Prague, Czech Republic.

hanwei: Let's go and check in the flight early.
kelvin: Ok. There's nothing to do here anyway and i don't want to start another argument here.

pohchoon: Shall we try to find an earlier flight?
yanzhi: I don't see such a need. I doubt there's any earlier one either.

timothy: I am hungry
valerie: Oh stop whining. Go buy yourself a chiku to eat.

*meanwhile at prague*

priscilla: OMG! THE FLIGHT HAS ALREADY DEPARTED!
seelek: This is bad! Quick find a flight!

zhenyang: This is horrible. We have to find a flight quick!
jezabel: Let's follow them!

felicia: Shit! This is so screwed.
celest: Ya la! Dunno who choose the 6am flight.
felicia: Are you blaming it on me?
celest: Haiz, wonder who don't want to search for a better flight.
felicia: ARE YOU PICKING ON ME?
celest: DONT YOU DARE RAISE YOUR VOICE! I AM SUPPOSED TO BE ONE ANGRY!
felicia: GO FIND A FLIGHT LA!
celest: GO FOLLOW OUR ALLIANCE MEMBERS LA!

The 3 teams at Prague frantically finds a flight to go to Dubrovnik.

priscilla: Can i have 2 tickets to Dubrovnik?
ticket-lady: You will connect through Vienna and arrive at 2.29pm.
seelek: Shit, we are like 3 hours behind.
priscilla: No choice.
ticket-lady: Here are your tickets.

celest: Can we have the same tickets as them?
ticket-lady: Here you go.
felicia: Thanks.

jezabel: Same tickets as them please.
ticket-lady: Sorry, the flight is fully booked.
zhenyang: WHAT THE ....!
ticket-lady: I can offer you tickets through Zagreb, arriving at 2.36pm.
jezabel: We will take it. Cool down darling.
zhenyang: If driving is involved, i better navigate the map.

Priscilla and See Lek and Celest and Felicia are on the flight connecting through Vienna arriving at 2.29pm.

Zhen Yang and Jezabel are on the flight connecting through Zagreb landing at 2.36pm.

*at dubrovnik*

timothy: Ok we are first! Let's maintain this.
valerie: I don't see the other teams from the other flight. I wonder what happened.

pohchoon: Where is the 2nd flight?
yanzhi: I dunno.

hanwei: Ok let's go to the fort.
kelvin: We are aiming to clear this leg without any argument.

*at fort lawrence*

timothy: ROADBLOCK!
In this roadblock, one team member have to help in the renovation of the city walls damaged by the bombings during the Yugoslavian civil war of the 1990s. The racer need to search through a pile of 150 stones to find one of eight that fit into the wall.

valerie: You do it, it's a patience task, not physical.
timothy: Fine. -.-

*timothy starts to fit rocks*

*meanwhile*

Poh Choon and Yan Zhi and Han Wei and Kelvin alighted at the wrong entrance.

pohchoon: Where is the cluebox?
yanzhi: Let's search around here.

hanwei: Hmm, this place doesn't look like it. I dont even see the flag.
kelvin: Ask the driver to drive around?

*at the roadblock*

timothy: I wonder which is the correct rock.
valerie: Go hubby! No one is stressing you.

*hanwei and kelvin's cab appeared*

timothy: *starts to panic* AHHH! *rock slips into place*
valerie: Looks like he works better under stress.
timothy: Make your way to the roof of the Fort of St. Lawrence and take a tandem zip line to the roof of Fort Borkar.
valerie: It's about time we do more exciting stuff.

hanwei: They are leaving already. Roadblock.
kelvin: You do, i can't stand trial and error.

*at roof of Fort Lawrence*

valerie: *screams manly down the zipline*
timothy: *shrieks girly down the zipline*
valerie: DETOUR! Short & Long or Long & Short.
In Short & Long, teams have to rappel down from the roof of the fort to the base and follow the marked path to a city wall that they have to climb with a rope ladder. Then, once at the top, they have to make their way through Dubrovnik’s Old Town to a plaza where they will find their next clue. The hard physical part of the task was short, but then teams must navigate a long distance through the confusing streets to the plaza. In Long & Short, teams have to use a tandem zip-line to fly from the fort to the water below. Then, after swimming to a floating platform, they must choose a small fishing boat, row around the city walls to the old harbor, and run to the same plaza, where they will find their next clue. The hard physical part of this task was much longer, but the short distance to the plaza was far less confusing.

hanwei: *after several attempts* Finally!

timothy: Take a taxi to the next Pit Stop, the Stone Cross Overlook. This monument overlooking the whole of Dubrovnik is the 6th Pit Stop in the race around the world. The last team to check in may be eliminated.
valerie: OMG! OUR FIRST PLACE! RUN RUN!

pohchoon: I dont see any teams around.
yanzhi: We might just lose this here.

*at Fort Borkar*

hanwei: Let's do the physical one.
kelvin: Alright.

*hanwei and kelvin slides down zipline to swim to boat*

*at Stone Cross Overlook*

Yi Xuan: Timothy and Valerie, you are team number 1! As the winners of this leg of the race, you have won a 12.5 foot cataraman.
timothy: This is great!
valerie: Getting first is wonderful
Yi Xuan: What are your views about raising from last to first?
timothy: Valerie has been very encourgaing but in a very military way. It makes me very tired but i know she is the one i love.
valerie: Timothy needs pushing. Without that, i think we will be packing our bags home today.

*at the roadblock*

pohchoon: OMG WE ARE DONE!
yanzhi: Ok! We can still catch up!

*at the Long & Short detour*

hanwei: This is quite easy since both of us are quite fit.
kelvin: It all takes teamwork.
hanwei: Ok go get the clue.

*at Fort Borkar*

pohchoon: I dont think i am up for rowing.
yanzhi: Ok we do the rappelling and climbing.

*at plaza*

hanwei: The Stone Cross Monument please.
taxi-driver: Sorry, you are wet. No deal.
kelvin: What?

*5 min past and no taxi*

hanwei: Let's just take that car.

*private car brings hanwei and kelvin to Stone Cross Overlook*

Yi Xuan: Han Wei and Kelvin, you are the second team to arrive.
hanwei: That's not bad.
kelvin: He sounds different.
Yi Xuan: However, you did not take the legal form of transportation. You have to go back to the plaza and follow the clue.
hanwei: Damn. The taxi.
kelvin: We have to take a taxi!

pohchoon: Ok, now where is the plaza?
yanzhi: OMG! THERE'S HAN WEI AND KELVIN! DONT LOSE TO THEM!

kelvin: TAXI PLEASE APPEAR!

priscilla: Ok, we have to maintain our lead on Zhen Yang and Jezabel.
seelek: Jump in that cab.

celest: We must not get eliminated.
felicia: That depends on how you perform.
celest: Hello. You are part of the team.
felicia: YOU will be doing the roadblock and everything.
celest: You are a hopeless case.

*2 taxis stop and 4 people jumped out and rushed to the Pit Stop*

Yi Xuan: Han Wei and Kelvin, Poh Choon and Yan Zhi, you are team number 2 and 3 respectively.
pohchoon: We are not last?
yanzhi: OMG! THIS IS MIRACULOUS!
Yi Xuan: The other flight got delayed at Prague.
hanwei: So it was a fight for 2nd and 3rd not elimination.
kelvin: Haha. That was funny seeing they work so hard.

*at Dubrovnik airport*

zhenyang: We have to work very hard to catch up.
jezabel: I have faith in us darling!

priscilla: Roadblock. You do it?
seelek: Ok!

celest: Roadblock. Oh fixing the rock into the wall?

priscilla: It's just out luck that the taxi driver turned right just now.
seelek: But I had really enjoyed myself on this race. Experience the different countries, immerse myself in the different cultures.
priscilla: I can't think of doing this race with another person other than my best friend See Lek.
seelek: I am glad i joined this race with Priscilla and not anyone else and i have got to know her alot better.

I must say ytd's band concert was a success. And of course, the band's success is thanks to the hard work of the backstage crew and ushers of 13/07 (even dick announced it this morning ^^). Imagine, without ushers, there would be total chaos as visitors are unable to find their way around the immensely huge republic polytechnic cultural centre. Also, the ushers are important because they lead the visitors to the toilet. Without them, the visitors will be peeing and pooping on their seats. The backstage crew played an even larger role. They are in charge of almost all the logistics on stage. Imagine without them, there would be extra seats when players moved out and insufficent seats when they moved back in. Also, without the super important backstage crew's help, the skit 'Peter and the Wolf' would not be successful as there would not be anyone to shift the props into their place. The bloody tree is super heavy you know. So, do you all agree that the ushers and backstage crew are the most important people in the entire concert? Let's give them a hand!

That headphone-speaker-thingy is super cool!

today had a super sian 3 hour break bcz there is no bio. so we went to slack at 111. i slept for 1 hour! can felt super refreshed. celest gave me a sandwich which her mum made. it was damn delicious. but i felt bad after knowing it was meant for her jezzie but her jezzie didn't turn up. then she also gave me a kit kat! which was half melted and part of the choc stuck onto the wrapper but it was still nevertheless yummy. come on, who could resist a kit kat? she is such a wonderful friend. whoever bully her, better not let me see you bcz i will break you neck and stuff your toes into your mouth. :)

then i went to jurong with her after gp bcz she wanted to take her maths notes to prepare for the lecture test tmr. so we took the super long train to jurong east. but then she realised she can't make it back for maths so we ended up eating at imm. before that, we went to her house and i finally got to see the legendary abacus. ABACUS IS DAMN CUTE!! and she really very clever and nice to play with. i feel like going to jurong now to play with abacus.

Leg 4 Recap

Previously on the Amazing Race, 8 teams of 2 set out from Bingo, Burkina Faso and travelled across the country back to the country's capital city. Along the way, teams battled for positions. At the detour, teams are penalized due to lack of creativity. It was another footrace to the pitstop with Celest and Felicia losing for the 3rd time. Back at the U-Turn, Timothy and Valerie bought insurance by U-Turning Jack and Ken, ultimately sealing their fate as they were the 4th team to be eliminated from the race. 7 teams remain, who will be eliminated next?

Leg 5

Departing the Pit Stop in first place at 6.45am, Si Aun and Xinfang opened their clue.

siaun: Fly over 4800km to Vilnius, Lithuania. Then, drive one of the marked cars to St. Ann's Church to find the next clue.
xinfang: Let's go to a ticketing agent.
siaun: Coming in first has a very good feeling.
xinfang: We are going to keep up this momentum and finish off this race first.

Departing 1 min later, Celest and Felicia also made their way to the ticket agent.

*at ticketing office*

siaun: Can i have 2 tickets to Vilnius?
xinfang: Lithuania.
ticketing-agent: You will fly to Paris at 10.45pm. From there, the best flight i can offer will arrive at 2.10pm.
siaun: We will take it.

*at another ticketing office*

celest: 2 tickets to Lithuania please.
ticketing-agent: 10.45pm to Paris. Then, fly to Vilnius. Arrive at 1.35pm.
felicia: Alright, take it.

*at yet another ticketing office*

priscilla: 2 tickets please.
ticketing-agent: Ouagadougou-Paris, Paris-Vilnius. Arrive at 1.35pm.
seelek: Ok.
ticketing-agent: Wait. I have a better one. Arrive at 1.25pm.
priscilla: We shall take it.

All 7 teams are on the same flight to Paris, France.

Priscilla and See Lek, Timothy and Valerie and Zhen Yang and Jezabel are on the 1.25pm flight to Vilnius.

Celest and Felicia, Han Wei and Kelvin and Poh Choon and Yan Zhi are on the 1.35 pm flight to Vilnius.

seelek: Let's go.

jezabel: We are going to a temple right?

jezabel: So how do we get to that mosque?
zhenyang: *shakes head* Her STM is acting up again.

hanwei: It's straight ahead la.
kelvin: FINE! We are both wrong. Now we are last.

*on the road 1 hour later*

zhenyang: Are we reaching soon?
jezabel: *turning map round and round* Don't think so. The temple is far far far away.
zhenyang: *snatches map* Let me take a look. *shocked* OMG! YOU LED US THE WRONG WAY FOR 1 HOUR!!

timothy: Overtake the girls!
valerie: I'm trying.

priscilla: I SEE THE CLUE!
seelek: THE COUPLES ARE BEHIND!

*at St. Ann Church*

timothy: ROADBLOCK!
In this Roadblock, one team member have to choose a local Lithuanian woman working outdoors, who will give them a package and tell them where to take it. In Count Down, teams have to make their way through the traditional Mid-Summer's Festival to a marked section of picket fence. Once there, they have to count every picket that makes up the fence and then reveal their calculation to a villager. If they are correct, they would receive their next clue. In Step Up, teams have to stilt-walk along a marked course to the finish line. If a person fell off before reaching the end, that person have to go back to the beginning and start again. When they reach the end, they will receive their next clue.

it's finally the end of the week! YAY!

had a late lunch with celest and jezabel today. i must officially declare them to be the 2 most cheerful person in my life. i feel very comfortable with them and they somehow managed to keep me laughing all the time. thanx celest for the KITKAT - my fav choc! *trying very hard not to blog about the ljs incident* haha =x

quite excited for this sunday bcz it's gonna be my first time helping out in a concert. haha. can't wait! AHHHHH! ok -.-

homework is more mild now compared to a few weeks ago.

Leg 3 Recap

Previously on the Amazing Race, 9 teams of 2 set out from Amsterdam, The Netherlands and flew approximately 4800km to the city of Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso. At Bingo, Si Aun and Xinfang worked together with Timothy and Valerie to keep up at the top of the pack. It was a mad race between the 2 all-female teams to the Pit Stop. Once again, Celest and Felicia lost by a few seconds, this time to Priscilla and See Lek. At the roadblock, Zhen Yang and Jian Hong's bad temper caused them to fall way back of the pack.In addition, the detour proved to challenging when Jian Hong and Siang Yong are unable to control the kids. As a result, they were the 3rd team to be eliminated from the race. 8 teams remain, who will be eliminated next?

Leg 4

Departing the Pit Stop 1st at 7.58 am, Priscilla and See Lek opened their clue.

priscilla: Walk along a marked path to nearby village and find Dakissaga, the tribal chief. Then, receive a clue and a complimentary gift from him.
seelek: A gift! I wonder what it is.
priscilla: I hope its a wand so i can fulfill my dream of being a fairy-godmother!

celest: WHY??? I WANT TO GET OUT OF AFRICA!!!

celest: Detour. Shake Your Pan or Shake Your Booty.
In Shake Your Pan, teams have to choose a gold mining pit and, using the local panning method, mine at least one ounce of gold. In Shake Your Booty, teams must learn a local traditional dance and perform it for a panel of local celebrities, but they also have to include their own creative dance moves. If the judges are impressed, they will receive their clue. However, if the judges aren't impressed, the team would incur a ten-minute penalty.

The U-turn is found at the end of a Detour. Teams can use the power of the U-turn to slow down another team by forcing them to backtrack and perform the other side of the Detour they did not previously complete. Teams can only use this power once in the Race, so they need to decide the best time to use it.

In this Roadblock, one team member have to load a bicycle with an unwieldy amount of supplies including a potentially uncooperative goat. Then they have to ride the bike like traditional local delivery people to the marketplace, where each team must find a different specified vendor and deliver their supplies. Then, go back to their partner to receive their next clue.

Leg 2 Recap

Previously on the Amazing Race, 10 teams of 2 set out from Shannon, Ireland and raced 970km to the lush greenlands of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Zhen Yang and Jezabel too a headstart by finishing the Detour swiftly and blazing through the Roadblock. Their good teamwork propelled them to first place. On the other hand, teams started to argue and fight. Han Wei and Kelvin and Celest and Felicia fell victim and dropped to the back of the pack. However, it was John and Kelvin who faltered so badly at the Roadblock and caused their elimination. 9 teams remain, who will be eliminated next?

Leg 3

Departing the pitstop first at 4.19 am, Zhen Yang and Jezabel opened the clue.

zhenyang: Fly 3,000 miles to Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso in West Africa and find the city’s train station.
jezabel: It sure is cold out here.
zhenyang: Let me carry you to the cab.

*at the Amsterdam airport*

jezabel: Do you have tickets to Ouaga-whatever-the-name-is?
zhenyang: Ouagadougou.
ticket-lady: The earliest flight is 7.20am via Paris but it's fully booked. I will put you on the 8 am flight to Paris. At Paris, the flight will land in Ouagadougou at 4.35pm.
zhenyang: We'll take it.

*soon all 9 teams are on the same flight*

priscilla: Could you put us on stand-by for the 7.20am?
ticket-lady: I can try.
seelek: If we get this, we are as good as winning this leg.

*priscilla and seelek awaits the agent's answer*

ticket-agent: You are on the flight.
priscilla: YES!!
seelek: What luck. This is gonna be a breeze.

Priscilla and See Lek are on the 7.20am flight to Paris.

*meanwhile at Amsterdam airport*

siaun: Wonder where the 2 girls are. Didn't see them at all here.
timothy: Maybe they got a better flight?
zhenyang: Impossible. It's fully booked.
celest: Well, we never know.

The other 8 teams board the plane to Paris.

captain: There is a mechanical problem. The flight will be slightly delayed.

yanzhi: Shit. We might miss the flight.
pohchoon: Let's just pray and hope for the best.

*at Paris airport*

priscilla: The plane's departing soon. Where are the rest?
seelek: This is certainly uncomfortable.
priscilla: Aiya. Dont worry la. We have superpowers and we can win this!

*8 teams rushed into the plane after running across the airport*

priscilla: Speak of the devil.
seelek: sian -.-

All 9 teams are now on the same flight to Ouagadougou.

Priscilla and See Lek had a slight headstart by jumping into the only cab in sight.

priscilla: TO THE TRAIN STATION QUICK!
seelek: relax. we are ahead of the rest.

jianhong: WA! Sickening, form what alliance.. end up throwing us behind.
siangyong: I am so gonna yield them.

*at city's train station*

priscilla: Take a train into the middle of the African Savannah to Bingo.
seelek: Maybe we can play a game of Bingo there as a task!
priscilla: Not funny. Heh.
seelek: The train station only opens at 6am tomorrow morning.
priscilla: Crap there goes our lead.

Han Wei and Kelvin arrived 2nd.
Celest and Felicia arrived 3rd.
Jack and Ken arrived 4th.

In this Roadblock, one team member have to milk a camel and extract enough milk to fill a bowl to the designated line. Then they have to drink the milk to receive their next clue. If their camel ran dry, they have to wait for all other Teams to finish milking theirs before using one of their camels.

See Lek, Kelvin, Felicia, Jack, Poh Choon, Jian Hong, Zhen Yang, Si Aun and Timothy performed the milking for their teams.

timothy: Such things require patience and to remain calm. I told Si Aun that and hope we can finish quickly.
siaun: I am employing what Timothy told me.

felicia: *freaks out* STUPID CAMELS STOP KICKING MY BOWL OF MILK!
seelek: *screaming* CAN YOU SQUIRT SOME MILK OUT??

zhenyang: Animals again. I sure hope they dont turn out like the donkeys.

*20 min later*

siaun: *gulps down milk and gets clue*
xinfang: Great job! Lead four camels across the Savannah along a marked path to a group of waiting nomads.
timothy: *struggling to drink milk*
siaun: Let's wait for them.
timothy: *receives clue*
valerie: Thanks for waiting. Let's go now.

*10 minutes later*

pohchoon: Delicate touch is the key to success!
yanzhi: Stop spouting rubbish.

siaun: Okay, that's the wrong way. Don't let them overtake!!

*30 minutes later*

zhenyang: This is getting frustrating. I need to remilk and my camel is dry.
jianhong: Argh. This damn camel is super stingy.
seelek: *drinking milk* Urgh. It tasted nasty.

*1 minute later*

felicia: *drinking milk* This taste like some overdue yoghurt.
celest: Then let's hope you get diarrhea.
felicia: *glares at celest* Then we can go home and sleep and forget about this whole race.

timothy: Here is the camels.
siaun: The camels are here.

valerie: Detour. Teach it or Learn it.
In Teach It, teams have to choose a local child who doesn’t speak any English and teach them the English words for ten common items. In Learn It, teams have to learn Möre, the primary African language used in this region. With a local school child as their teacher, Teams need to learn the Möre words for ten common items. Then, they have to take a test. They will only receive the clue after passing the test.

timothy: We learn it. Better to depend on ourselves than on them.
valerie: I can't believe you said that!! You finally want to depend on yourself!

seelek: YAY! Good thing you outran Felicia.
priscilla: Those runs during P.E. is not for nothing you know.
celest: 2nd again and lost by a few seconds again.
felicia: This is irritating.

Meanwhile, a huge storm moved across the plains with thunder and high speed winds.

Yi Xuan: Jian Hong and Siang Yong, you are the last team to arrive.
jianhong: We figured.
Yi Xuan: I am sorry to tell you that you have been eliminated from the race.
jianhong: We thought knowing each other can bring us far. But it only brought more conflicts.
siangyong: But i am really grateful for such a good friend like Jian Hong.
jianhong: It alright. We had experienced what others do not have a chance.
siangyong: Being on the race and everything, it broadens my experiences. And i am happy i have done it with my good friend Jian Hong.

Leg 1 Recap

Previously on the Amazing Race, 11 teams of 2 set out from the Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles and raced 8200 km to Shannon, Ireland. Teams formed alliance on the ferry to Inis Mor. At the roadblock, Jezabel's weight slowed their teams while Valerie's strength brought their team forward. Many teams were daunted by the donkeys but it was Han Wei and Kelvin who persevered to complete the task first, checking in 1st, seconds before good friends Celest and Felicia. Jack and Ken and Yilin and Hong Guo broke their alliance on the race to avoid elimination. And in the end, Yilin and Hong Guo lost in a mere footrace and were eliminated from the race. 10 teams remain, who will be eliminated next.

Leg 2

Departing the pitstop first at 12.00 am, Han Wei and Kelvin opened their clue.

hanwei: You read. I have insufficient sleep.
kelvin: Wonder who was snatching with me to read last leg?
hanwei: You want a fight now?
*starts fighting as usual -.-*

Departing 1 min later, Celest and Felicia opened their clue.

celest: Fly 970 miles to Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Once there, travel by train to Centraal Station and search the city's canals for Melkmeisjesburg bridge to find the next clue.
felicia: Alright let's go and leave them fighting there.
hanwei: OMG THE GIRLS ARE LEAVING! *reads clue*
kelvin: *dragging hanwei into the car* WE HAVE TO GO NOW!

All 10 teams soon made their way to the airport.

*on the road*

kelvin: Why are we slowing down?
hanwei: Shit flat tyre.
kelvin: WTH ARE YOU DOING!! NOW WE ARE LAST!!

john: erm where are we heading towards?
kelvin: i dunno. you are the one driving. dont ask me.

*at the Shannon airport*
celest: Can i book 2 tickets for the earliest flight to Amsterdam?
ticket-lady: The flight departs at 7am and it connects through Dublin. Then the flight departs Dublin at 12.15 pm. But you have to get your connecting flight tickets there.
felicia: Whatever la. Just give it to us.

Celest and Felicia, Jian Hong and Siang Yong, Priscilla and See Lek, Zhen Yang and Jezabel, Timothy and Valerie, Si Aun and Xinfang, Poh Choon and Yan Zhi and Jack and Ken managed to book the 7am flight.

hanwei: We are finally here. *goes to ticket counter* WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU HAVE NO MORE TICKETS?!?!
kelvin: Just our luck, same as last leg.
hanwei: Shut up.

Han Wei and Kelvin and John and Kelvin settled for the 8.30 am flight.

jianhong: Hmm, we need to snatch our tickets once we get there.
siangyong: Yup we have to dash once we land.

*at the Dublin airport*

*teams from 1st flight making wild dash to ticket counter*

zhenyang: Can i have 2 tickets to Amsterdam?
ticket-lady: *type on computer* Here you go.
jezabel: good job darling. *kisses*
zhenyang: how many tickets you have left?
ticket-lady: We have 10 left.
jezabel: So that makes.. um.. 10/2 *fiddles with fingers* 5 teams left!

Zhen Yang and Jezabel, Timothy and Valerie, Jian Hong and Siang Yong, Jack and Ken, Priscilla and See Lek and Poh Choon and Yan Zhi are on the 12.15pm flight.

*meanwhile..*

siaun: 2 tickets to amsterdam on the 12.15pm flight please.
ticket-lady: Sorry we are out of tickets. i will put you on the 1.30pm flight
xinfang: If only we never go to the wrong counter.

celest: 2 tickets please.
ticket-lady: Sorry we are fully booked.
felicia: *rolls eyes at celest* This wont happen is someone didn't tumble down the escalator...
celest: Are you saying it's my fault?
felicia: I totally dont want to argue with you.
celest: FINE! Let's quit the race.
felicia: FINE! *walks away*

Si Aun and Xinfang, Celest and Felicia, Han Wei and Kelvin and John and Kelvin are on the 1.30pm flight.

*at Amsterdam*

Timothy and Valerie burst out of the airport and gained a short lead by taking the first train. The other 5 teams settled for the second train. Arriving at Melkmeisjesburg bridge in first place, Timothy and Valerie found a Detour.

timothy: Detour. Hoist it or Hunt it
In Hoist It, teams have to use a traditional rope and pulley system to hoist five pieces of furniture up a typical Amsterdam residence. One team member will hoist it while the other receive it at the top. The task requires brains and brawn, but the buildings were just a few feet away so teams did not need to travel far. In Hunt It, teams have to make their way on foot several blocks to a parking lot to search through thousands of bicycles, the most common form of transportation in Amsterdam, and find the two bikes tagged with a specific color designated in their clue. After finding their bikes, teams have to ride them five miles to an attendant who would give them their next clue. The task was not terribly physical, but required tremendous attention to detail.

valerie: Since i have muscles, let's do the hoist it. You go on top.

However, they soon faced difficulty lifting the television set as it would not stay on the rope. The other teams soon caught up with them. Zhen Yang and Jezabel, Poh Choon and Yan Zhi and Jian Hong and Siang Yong chose to do Hoist it. While Jack and Ken and Priscilla and See Lek chose to Hunt it.

*at Hoist It detour*

valerie: Omg this is super heavy. I wonder if i can do it.
timothy (from above): You can do it dear! GOGOGO!

zhenyang: Good thing i have experience in tying knots.
jezabel (from above): JIAYOU DARLING!

siangyong: Those NPCC training should be of use now.
jianhong (from above): This is going to be long.

pohchoon: This is hard. i dont think i can do it.
yanzhi (from above): Keep it up! We can do it!

*at Hunt It detour*

jack: LOOK AT THE NUMBER OF BIKES!
ken: this is hopeless..

priscilla: Let's beat the boys!
seelek: YEAH MAN!

*after 1 hour...*

hanwei: Detour. Let's do Hoist it.
kelvin: Anything. I am not getting into an argument here to get eliminated.

celest: Let's do Hunt it. I doubt we have enough strength.

*at Hoist It detour*
jezabel: 5 items! Let's go!
zhenyang: Travel by bus to the rural village of Ransdorp.
jezabel: How did you manage to do it so quickly? The rest haven't lifted even 1 item.
zhenyang: I used to tie my sisters up using rope i can find.
jezabel: *shocked*

jezabel: Good thing we made it to catch the first bus.
zhenyang: Let's hope no one catches this bus.
*bus departs with Zhen Yang and Jezabel*

*at Hoist IT detour*
Timothy and Valerie soon finished after the first bus departed.

timothy: Let's wait here for the bus. You deserved a good rest.
valerie: Thanks hubby.

yanzhi: Let's swap places! You look worn out.
pohchoon: Good idea.

jack: OK! found both bikes.
ken: Let's cycle there now.

*seconds later*

priscilla: *shrieks loudly* FOUND IT!!
seelek: Let's go!

celest: ARGH! Where are the darn bicycles?!?!

*2nd bus to Ransdorp*

timothy: Wonder anyone else will catch up.

jack: WAIT FOR US!!

seelek: OH NO! THE BUS IS DEPARTING!

xinfang: Good job! We are done before the teams from the first flight!
siaun: *sweating profusely* My joints are going to disintegrate soon.

jianhong: Ok got the clue. Quick we are slightly behind them!
siangyong: Let me catch my breath first.

xinfang: I wonder who will be taking the same bus as us.
jianhong: Us.

*at the Hoist It detour*

yanzhi: Ok done. Let's get our ass out of here.
pohchoon: A bus ride? Let's hope we can catch up.

zhenyang: ROADBLOCK! Your turn.
jezabel: POLE VAULT?? I CAN'T DO IT FOR SURE!

In this Roadblock, one team member have to complete a single vault over a watery, muddy ditch and successfully touch both feet to the marshy grass on the opposite side in a regional sport known as ditch vaulting. Once across, they can retrieve their next clue, then return to their partner in any muddy way they like.

zhenyang: Ooh that is nasty.
jezabel: Shut up. I know i failed.

*jezabel 2nd attempt*

zhenyang: YES YOU DID IT!
jezabel: *takes clue and SWIMS back through the mud*
zhenyang: Ride a Dutch cargo bike, known as a bakfiets, through the countryside while searching for the marked drop-off point at the pitstop, Durgerdam Yacht Club. This picturesque waterfront at the edge of the second largest lake in Europe is the 2nd Pit Stop in the race around the world. The last team to check in may be eliminated.
jezabel: Let's go!

*at the Hoist It detour*

hanwei: I am dying! But we are finally done.
kelvin: Let's go!
hanwei: YOU DIDN'T EVEN SWEAT! LET ME REST LA!

john: Ok finish.
kelvin: We are so dead last.

jezabel: Great! We cooperated well and went through the leg smoothly!

celest: Sometimes i hope we can work better together. I am really disappointed.
felicia: I think that she don't understand me at times. i really hope we will do better next time.

*2 teams abandon bakfiets and make a wild dash*

*hanwei reaches 1st, john reaches 2nd......*

Yi Xuan: Han Wei and Kelvin, you are team number 9. John and Kelvin, you are the last team to arrive. I am sorry to tell you that you have been eliminated from the race.
john: It had been a wonderful journey.
kelvin: I have learnt many things and got to know
john better. john: We will stay as friends forever.

i finally got my phone back! YAY! so i shan't complain that nokia service centre took 1628 days to repair it, and the 48 hours of travelling from school to wheelock's place and the 93 hours of travelling from there to home. i am such a nice person. :)

today was my happiest pe lesson in the 2 years in aj. esp when andrew chin said: "from this week onwards, those with g and s (gold and silver) are excused from afternoon pe." YIPPEE!! it means more cabal/maple/tales time revision time on monday. aren't you happy for me?

i think i am improving in gp. despite timothy saying my paragraph = a piece of shit (ok he didnt say that.) i still think that i have improved from a pile of shit. so ya its still an improvement.

ok i need to go do photosynthesis tutorial last few qn (tutorial is going to finish before lecture again...) and bao ba zhang (dumpling theory tutorial) alrd. byebye!

Ok i am going to do something which is rather stupid. i shall try creating an amazing race story! and the teams will be based on people who will visit my blog and people i know in real life. =) some relationships will be fictional to create some funny purposes.

Here are the teams:

Leg 1

Yi Xuan: This is Playboy Mansion in Los Angeles. And soon, you guys will be departing on a race around the world. There are 11 legs. At the end of each leg, there would be a pitstop. 8 of these pitstops are elimination points. If you are last, you will be eliminated. The other 2 are non-elimination points. If you are last, you will have to perform an additional task called the speed bump on the next leg. The first team to pass the finish line will win 1 million dollars! The first clue is waiting for you on the back packs you brought along with you. Good luck. Travel safe. GO!

*teams running to the backpacks*

hanwei: "Fly to Shannon, Ireland..."
kelvin: "and make your way to the ferry port in the town of Rossaveal. Then make your way to Teampall Bheanian. "
hanwei: "HEY! THAT'S MY JOB!"
kelvin: "DONT MAKE ME QUARREL WITH YOU OUT HERE!"
*starts fighting while other teams drive out of the mansion*

At the first intersection, teams made different choices.

zhenyang: "Let's go left.
jezabel: "Alright sweetie."

valerie: "Shall we go right?"
timothy: "Whatever you say baby."

Si Aun and Xinfang, Poh Choon and Yan Zhi, John and Kelvin Woon, Jack and Ken and Timothy and Valerie turned right.

Han Wei and Kelvin Tan, Celest and Felicia, Jian Hong and Siang Yong, Priscilla and See Lek, Zhen Yang and Jezabel and Yilin and Hong Guo turned left.

Teams arrived at the airports.

*at the British Airways counter*

jack: *panting heavily* "Is this the flight to Ireland?"
counter-lady: "Yes. May I help..."
jack: "KEN!! OVER HERE!!"
*ken dashes to the counter to join jack*
ken: "We want 2 tickets please."
counter-lady: "here you go!

*4 other teams get their tickets*

hanwei: "We want 2 tickets!
counter-lady: "Sorry we are fully booked..."
kelvin: "SEE LA! FIGHT FOR WHAT NOW WE NO FLIGHT LIAO!"
hanwei: "WHAT MY FAULT! YOU ARE IN THE WRONG ALSO!"
*starts fighting again*

*meanwhile at the Aer Lingus counter*
felicia: "We would like to have 2 tickets pretty please."
celest: "With sugar and icing on top."
counter-lady: "Er.. (thinks to herself 'are these 2 weird or what?) Ok here you go."
felicia: "THANK YOU!"
celest: *hugs counter-lady"

Si Aun and Xinfang, John and Kelvin, Poh Choon and Yan Zhi, Timothy and Valerie and Jack and Ken are on the British Airways flight which landed late due to a delay.

Han Wei and Kelvin Tan, Yilin and Hong Guo, Jian Hong and Siang Yong, Priscilla and See Lek, Celest and Felicia and Zhen Yang and Jezabel landed early.

*Jian Hong and Siang Yong had a headstart and jumped into a cab*

But all 11 teams are on the same ferry to the island of Inis Mor.

*On the ferry*

Si Aun and Xinfang formed alliance with Timothy and Valerie, Celest and Felicia formed alliance with Zhen Yang and Jezabel, John and Kelvin formed and alliance with Poh Choon and Yan Zhi, Yilin and Hong Guo formed alliance with Jack and Ken while Priscilla and See Lek formed alliance with Siang Yong and Jian Hong. Han Wei and Kelvin continued to quarrel.

hanwei: "Dont make me throw you into the sea.
kelvin: "I shall see you try."

After the ferry arrived teams scrambled to sign up on ferries to leave the island.

8 am ferry:
Celest and Felicia
Zhen Yang and Jezabel
Yilin and Hong Guo

8.30 am ferry:
Han Wei and Kelvin
Jian Hong and Siang Yong
Priscilla and See Lek

9.30 am ferry
Jack and Ken
Timothy and Valerie
Si Aun and Xinfang
John and Kelvin
Poh Choon and Yan Zhi

Upon arrival to the mainland, Yilin and Hong Guo found a clue attached to their vehicle's windscreen.

yilin: "Drive 42 miles to Cleggan Farm and ride a tandem bike to the next clue."

Teams started to drive to Cleggan Farm and started to cycle.

Arriving at the clue first, Zhen Yang and Jezabel opened the clue.

jezabel: "ROADBLOCK!"
zhenyang: "I will do it. It's a physical task."

In this roadblock, 1 team member have to ride a high-wire bicycle across a wind-swept ravine suspended almost 200 feet above the North Alantic while their partner, sitting 8 feet below, is taken for a ride.

Zhen Yang and Celest took places for their teams and started to cycle when Yilin and Hong Guo arrived.

Celest took an early lead as Zhen Yang started to tire out.

jezabel: "QUICK! OVERTAKE THEM!
zhenyang: "DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW HEAVY YOU ARE?
jezabel: "SHUT UP AND OVERTAKE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finishing the roadblock first, Celest and Felicia opened the clue.

Celest: "Choose a donkey and fill each of baskets with 15 pieces of peat. Then walk the donkey to the entrance of the farm to receive the next clue."

Hong Guo started to cycle and overtook Zhen Yang with ease. Both teams finished almost at the same time and started to work on the donkeys.

Han Wei sped through the Roadblock with Jian Hong and Priscilla finishing 5th and 6th.

At the donkey task, Yilin and Hong Guo faced problem when their donkey refused to budge.

Soon, it proved to be a challenge as Zhen Yang and Jezabel's donkey also stalled.

On the other hand, Celest and Felicia's donkey walked slowly away from the rest.

At that moment teams from the last ferry caught up.

John and Yan Zhi brought their team across clinching 7th and 8th. Jack and Ken in the meanwhile became seriously lost while cycling. Valerie, using her super strength, brought Timothy across at no time taking 9th place. At that moment, Han Wei and Kelvin's donkey started to run and they overtook Celest and Felicia, finishing first.

hanwei: "This time I am reading the clue. Drive 13 miles to Connemera Heritage Centre, a tribute to Ireland's agricultural past and the pit stop for this leg of the race. The last team to check in may be eliminated."
kelvin: "QUICK GO!"
hanwei: "STOP PUSHING ME!"
*started arguing again as Celest and Felicia received their clue*

Si Aun and Xinfang and Jack and Ken finally found the roadblock as Si Aun and Ken completed it obtaining 10th and 11th placing respectively.

On the road, the 2 teams raced their way to the pit stop.

In the meanwhile, more teams got stuck at the donkey task.

hongguo: "If you dont move i will chop you into pieces and feed that fat girl there."
jezabel: "HEY I AM NOT FAT!"
hongguo: "NOT YOU LA!"

Jezabel flared up and accidentally gave her donkey a kick. Suddenly, it moved quite swiftly.

At the same time, Priscilla and See Lek and Jian Hong and Siang Yong worked together and completed the task in 3rd and 4th place. Right behind them, Zhen Yang and Jezabel led their donkey into a 5th position.

*At Connemera Heritage Centre*
Yi Xuan: Han Wei and Kelvin, you are team number 1! Congratulations. As the winners of this leg of the race, you have won a trip for 2 from Travelocity to the Fairmont Banff Resort in Alberta, Canada.
hanwei: "Great! Never thought 2 enemies can come in first!"
kelvin: "We shall argue less next leg!"

*few seconds later*
Yi Xuan: Celest and Felicia, you are team number 2! Not bad! You lost the boys in a footrace by mere seconds.
celest: "We will work harder next time!"
felicia: "yeah and we wont lose to them again!"

Back at the donkey task, Jack and Ken's donkey stopped moving while Yilin and Hong Guo are still at the start.

hongguo: "It's over."
yilin: "Dont give up baby. We can win this."

At the entrance of the farm, Poh Choon and Yan Zhi finished in 7th slightly behind John and Kelvin who were 6th. Right behind the 2 teams were Timothy and Valerie (who were using brute force to drag the donkey until it nearly suffocated) and Si Aun and Xinfang who are 8th and 9th respectively.

*At the Connemera Heritage Centre*
Yi Xuan: Jian Hong and Siang Yong, Priscilla and See Lek, you are team numbers 3 and 4. Good work! Nice alliance you had there.
jianhong: "Ya we hope this will propel us to the end."
seelek: "Yup!"

*5 minutes later*

Yi Xuan: "Zhen Yang and Jezabel, you are team number 5. What happened back there?
jezabel: "That sickening fat ass said I am fat."
zhenyang: "Now now calm down. Let me give you a kiss."

*CENSORED!!*

*On the road*

timothy: "Are you sure its right? Si Aun and Xinfang are following us you know."
valerie: "I am very sure!"

pohchoon: "Let's go straight here."
yanzhi: "Alright."
john: "Should we follow them?"
kelvin: "Ok."

In the meanwhile, Jack and Ken finished the task obtaining 10th position. Slightly behind them is the couple in last place.

jack: "QUICK GO! WE CANT AFFORD TO LOSE NOW!"

hongguo: "The alliance is broken now. It's a race to the pit stop."

*At the Connemera Heritage Centre*

Yi Xuan: "Timothy and Valerie, you are team number 6."
timothy: "Good job Val!" *approaches Valerie*
valerie: "You smell like a crocodile. Go and bathe before touching me!"

*2 minutes later*

Yi Xuan: "Si Aun and Xinfang, you are team number 7."
siaun: "This isn't good."
xinfang: "We will do better next leg."

*1 hour later...*

Yi Xuan: "Poh Choon and Yan Zhi, John and Kelvin, you are teams number 8 and 9."
kelvin: "Thank god, I thought we were goners when we lost the footrace against them."
pohchoon: "Who fell so far behind us?"
yanzhi: "especially after we wound up that mountain and came back down."

*hours later...*

*2 cars pulling into the pitstop*

*crazy footrace*

Yi Xuan: "Jack and Ken, you are team number 10! You are still in the race."
jack: "Thank goodness! I thought we were dead."
ken: "Darn donkeys."

*moments later*

Yi Xuan: Yilin and Hong Guo, you are the last team to arrive. I am sorry to tell you that you have been eliminated from the race.
hongguo: "Aww shucks."
yilin: "We figured. We had fun.
hongguo: "The most important thing is i know that she is always here for me."
yilin: "And we will stay together forever."
